Practice

The presented projects have been developed in different contexts, some during employment, some in private practice, but all outside the academic setting. While often incorporating experimental qualities, project with a an explorative emphasis are collected under the research topic.

Most projects have collaborative aspects, and credits are in those instances given.

full-scale prototype

SAPS.02

SAPS.02 prototype

SAPS.02 was the first full-scale prototype of the Streaming Architecture Projective Space concept, developed by ssark medialab and Splintermind. The prototype was presented at Art.Platform in November 2004.

The physical and mediated aspects of SAPS dissolve the boundaries of its physical surroundings. The classical display case is inverted through the generated content displaced in multiple locations. The visual identity is continuously re-created through daily updates, in a process of responsive management over time.

The SAPS.02 prototype was produced in collaboration with Cross-disciplinary studies of Complexity and transformation, a research project supported by the Swedish Research council.

Tshirt

BCN GRFFT

BCN GRFFT tshirt

Tshirt design for the Tokyo Style 2004 Tshirt exhibition "...without borders", featuring Swedish and Japanese designers.

The BCN GRFFT tshirt featured selected graffiti works from the streets of Barcelona, linked to an annotated map of the city. A tool for locating these works while investigating the city. Given the highly temporal aspects of graffiti, the tshirt expired in the fall of 2004.

The T-shirts were exhibited in conjunction with Tokyo Style in Stockholm in August 2004 (Konstfack) and Swedish Style in Tokyo in October 2004.

Re-Approaching New Media 1

Commission for the design of printed documentation and web site of the first of a series of six workshops on the re-approach of new media in art. RAM 1 was focused on representation and control interaction in computer games.

The www.ram-net.net website features a crossreader, allowing articles provided by seven different authors to be read in parallel, with associative links. This is also implemented in the printed publication, in which each articles occupies the same only one column on each spread. Attention can then be shifted between the texts at any time.

The RAM series of events was initiated by CRAC, Creative Room for Art and Computing, with many participants in Scandinavia. Jonas Runberger was a participant in the RAM1 workshop, executed in Visby, Sweden in November 2002.
