Includes animated collages, rendered animations and footage from SAPS prototypes SAPS.00 to SAPS.04.

SAPS

SAPS, the Streaming Architecture Projective Space spatial media concept merges physical space with media technology. The SAPS concept is founded in the relationship between projected moving media and physical space, supported by real time internet broadcast technology. The concept has been developed through a series of prototypes.

SAPS.00

Initial studies were done through a series of animated collages, testing different spaces and functions augmented by media projection.

SAPS.01

SAPS.01 was set up as a workshop, inviting outside partners to explore the potential of the concept. The tool for collaboration was a 1:10 scale prototype with integrated projectors and real time media mixer.

SAPS.02

The SAPS.02 full scale prototype was designed specifically for the Art,platform gallery space, Stockholm. The spatial set-up featured three separate wall partitions, each with a linked projector. Media was automatically adjusted to be displayed correctly on the curved surfaces of the walls. SAPS.02 was used as a show room, conference space, mock-up fashion store and as a video jockey venue with a real time audio-visual performance.

SAPS.03

A proposal for an interior installation at a major cinema, using the visitors' horizontal and vertical movement through a staircase to distort projected imagery.

SAPS.04

Returning to the animated collage, SAPS.04 is a work-in-progress based on existing environments transformed through SAPS interventions.
